So this is a challenge to all parish members (and a great way to engage the Restoration 20+1+4 Lenten challenge): consider regularly setting aside time to serve those in need in our community as Jesus bids us, for in so doing, we serve not just them, but Jesus as well! And this is a challenge to all groups in the church: Vestry, Standing Committees, Men’s Group, Women’s Night Out group, the women’s guilds, the Altar Guild, the Acolyte Guild, the choir, families. What a great way to come together as a parish around a central theme of the Christian faith: service. For Jesus said, “Just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” (Matthew 25:40)
In addition to the above service ministries of Church of Our Savior, other opportunities for service happen throughout the year, such as the African Team Ministries sale in April, Back-to-School Haircut event in August, and the Christmas Tree Raffle in December. Watch for these events. The parish also provides meeting space to outside groups including Weight Watchers, the Girl Scouts, Project Everlast, and Stamp Club. For information about renting meeting space, please contact the church office at 308-532-0515.
